More than anything, nonprofits are worthy of our support because of the essential services they provide. Nonprofits organize to make our world safer, more compassionate, and more beautiful. They deserve our thanks for cleaner air and water, art and music, education, maintained hiking trails, thriving small businesses, sustainable agriculture, countless sports and recreation activities, more affordable housing, public radio and television, and the list goes on. They help individuals and families in crisis survive and heal by providing food, shelter, healthcare, and counseling. Nonprofits have become invaluable partners to government and philanthropy in meeting human needs and caring for our world. Without them, many things would fall apart.
