It’s not too soon to envision what's next
Thinking about Reconstruction Intro

Thinking about nonprofit closures has not been so uplifting. But I balance it with thinking about what may come next. There is significant harm being caused by funding cuts and dehumanizing policy changes. Nonprofits are being destabilized using multiple tactics. The damage being done will take many years to recover from. But it will also present some opportunities for transformation.
Disruption makes space for something new. Knowing the challenges associated with the current nonprofit model, I am curious and excited to see how we can transform it. I’m heartened by the work that is already going on in some corners of the nonprofit sector to envision a brighter future of healthy organizations building powerful, equitable communities. Rather than go into a tailspin reading about the immoral actions of the tech oligarchs and immoral politicians, I encourage you in the upcoming series of posts to imagine what might be possible if we use new tools and approaches to build more resilient and equitable groups and organizations.
Posts in the coming week will address why we are stuck in old patterns, co-creating a vision to move toward, taking inspiration from the natural world, and tools and resources to explore.
